Performance

Dan is reprising his role of Abanazar in Aladdin at the Princess Theatre, Torquay from Friday 17th December 2010 to 2nd January 2011. Click on the theatre link for tickets and information.

Dan’s last theatre credit was in the leading role in new play ‘Fragile’ written and Directed by Lance Nielsen. The play is a semi autobiographical piece about adoption and child abuse, love and loss and ran at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre, Kentish Town and the Landor Theatre, Clapham North.

  • In film Dan recently played the titular role in a mocumentary about a talented foley artist, Knut Smith. Knut, who does all his sound effects vocally, has been to the top, but due to his over-inflated ego and attitude he is now on the way down again. This short comedy was created in the style of ‘This is Spinal Tap’. See the film here.
  • He also appeared in a promotional short in support of the BA cabin crew strike playing an insensitive BA manager - watch the film here.
    • Dan can be seen as Dabgash the orc in independent Lord of the Rings fan film ‘The Hunt for Gollum’. The film can be seen free online.

    Dan can be seen in the promotional video for a feature film ‘Jericho’s Walls are Falling’ at see the trailer.

    The film, written and directed by Lance Nielsen is about a young man diagnosed with HIV and the implications that has on his life. Dan is also the producer of this production and is now looking for funding to shoot the full feature in 2010.

    Stage Fighting

    Dan is currently choreographing fights for New Pantomime Productions, working with stars such as Tim Vincent (Blue Peter, Emmerdale) and James Crossley (Hunter from Gladiators)

    Dan has just co-ordinated the fights in ‘Hold The Lift’ a short film starring Joerg Stadler from films such as Saving Private Ryan, Spy Game and Hannibal Rising.

    Dan will be working with Ronin Traynor on a film promo for a stage production of ‘The Last of the Mohicans’. Watch this space for more details.

    Dan is also due to be performing and co-ordinating the fights on a martial arts feature film called ‘Shaolin Funk’. The film is due to shoot in 2011.

    Dan can be seen as part of the fight team in two independent Lord of the Rings fan films: ‘Born of Hope’ and ‘The Hunt for Gollum’.

    ‘Born of Hope’ is set in the time before the War of the Ring and looks at the lives of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and focuses on the relationship between, Aragorn’s parents, Arathorn and Gilraen. Dan plays various orcs and rangers with multiple deaths.

    The film was released for free viewing online on 1st December 2009.

    ‘The Hunt for Gollum’ follows Aragon on his quest to find Gollum before the forces of Sauron can get to him and discover the location of the ring of power. Dan plays various orcs in the central battle as well as a featured (speaking) orc ‘Dabgash’. He also voices some of the ringwraith sounds.

    The film was released for free viewing online on 3rd May 2009 and within a month already had over 2 million viewers!

    Dan has just finished filming as both a fight team member and fight co-ordinator on a promo for a new webseries ‘Primary Faction’. The shoot was centred around the violent sport Tycan, played in the underground of the Primary Faction world. More details can be found on Primary Faction and Tycan.

    Over the summer Dan will be working with Ronin Traynor on a film promo for a stage production of ‘The Last of the Mohicans’. Watch this space for more details. Additionally Dan recently arranged fights for TV pilot 'Damian’, feature film ‘The Harsh Light of Day’, youth stage productions of ‘Lord of the Flies’, ‘The Three Musketeers’, ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘High School Musical’, ‘Hairspray’, and ‘Chorus Line’. He also performs fights in a short promo film ‘The Scourge’, due to be released online soon.

    Dan can also be seen performing live fight displays as a Knight in a medieval themed restaurant and at the Globe Theatre Exhibition.

    This year Dan has choreographed fights for ‘Journeys End’ (UK tour), ‘Ask Jeeves’ (commercial), ‘School Run’ (short film), ‘Tycan Tournament’ (webisode), ‘Medieval Banquets’ (Themed restaurant), ‘As You Like It’ (international tour), ‘Merry Wives of Windsor’ (international tour), ‘Troilus and Cressida’ (stage), ‘Madness of King George’ (UK tour), ‘Of Mice and Men’ (stage), ‘Playboy of the Western World’ (stage), ‘Aladdin’ (x3, stage).

    Productions

    Dan’s production company, Freestyle Productions, are currently looking for funding for feature film ‘Jericho’s Walls are Falling’ and have a short ‘Detention’ in post production.

    Dan has some more short film productions in the pipeline. One of them ‘School Run’, which features a tall dark man, a thrilling chase, a shocking fight and a big misunderstanding is planned to shoot June 2010. More details soon.…
