Dan was born in Watford, Hertfordshire and lived in Borehamwood. Living so near Elstree Studios he always had an awareness of the industry, a school friend of his was even a child actor in Eastenders. At the age of seven he moved up to the North West with his Mother and younger brother and sister, where he stayed until the age of eighteen. At school Dan enjoyed Drama and Media studies, so he continued these at college (though the drama course he chose was cancelled due to lack of numbers, he was still able to perform in all the productions created in the media course). After finishing college he decided to leave Merseyside and move back to London to pursue a career in acting.

Dan has been acting since around the age of 14 when he first started acting classes at the Alhambra Academy of Dance and Drama, which he attended twice a week after school. Dan's first stage performance was a showcase of the academy’s students, performed at the Queens Hall in Widnes. Dan performed a monologue called 'Scopin' Chicks'. Through the academy Dan had his first audition for Simon Barry at New Pantomime Productions (NPP); he was cast as Snuffles the Dwarf in 'Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs', which made his professional theatre debut at the age of 16, also at the Queens Hall. He played alongside celebrities such as Aiden J Harvey (Copycats), Hunter (Gladiators) and Frank Williams (Dad’s Army). He was then asked to repeat the role the following Easter at the Liverpool Empire.

Dan continued acting with his local amateur dramatics society appearing in shows such as 'Oh What a Lovely War' 'Dick Whittington' and 'Plaza Suite'. He took Drama GCSE and studied plays and musicals like 'A Taste Of Honey' and 'Blood Brothers'. Dan also started taking an interest in stage combat which he used in his final performance.

He was later asked to play the giant in the pantomime 'Jack and the Beanstalk', again for New Pantomime Productions, this time at the Tameside Hippodrome, Ashton-Under-Lyne. He has now worked for Simon Barry and New Pantomime Productions every year since.

After leaving school Dan took a BTEC National Diploma in Media, at St Helen s College, giving him some valuable experience working in TV, Film and Radio, along with the opportunity to work with a regional cable TV company (Liverpool 1) and the local radio station (St Helen's Sound).

Since moving to London, Dan has been fortunate enough to find some priceless friends, lucky enough to make some chance meetings and talented enough to achieve some really enjoyable roles and to learn from each and every new experience. He has performed in a wide variety of productions, straight and comic, for stage, radio, TV and film. He has played in a total of fifteen pantomimes to date and has credits performing on the QE2 and in showcases at the London Palladium and the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. His roles have ranged from Mr Toad to Mr Mushnik, from a Viking warrior to a vicious Orc, a Hollywood action hero to an Italian immigrant.

As well as honing his acting skills in courses and workshops Dan also takes classes in singing, dance and stage combat.

One day Dan would like to be able to enjoy regular work, creating a balance between both mediums of the stage and the big screen, such as the likes of Judi Dench and Simon Callow. For now he drives himself to that end by doing what ever is necessary to create new opportunities for himself himself and, if possible, his friends and colleagues.
